With just 23 days left until surgery, my to-do list keeps growing instead of shrinking. Every time I make progress, something else seems to go wrong—like this morning.
I’ve spent the past week cleaning and downsizing to prepare for recovery. My closet, which doubles as storage, was packed with plastic drawers and boxes. I pulled most of them out to sort through, donating or discarding whatever I don’t need.
To help with organization, I bought a smaller shelf unit for the foot of my bed since the previous one wasn’t working for me. But when I tried assembling it this morning, I realized it was missing more than half its parts.
Returning it to Amazon would take 3–4 days, so I had no choice but to order another one and hope it arrives intact. I’ll return the defective one later, but this unexpected expense isn’t ideal. Right now, my room is in disarray, and I can’t move things back—only to pull them out again later.
Amazon claims it’ll arrive today, but I doubt it on a Sunday. That means losing another day of productivity. Even switching to computer work isn’t an option since every surface is covered, leaving me nowhere to set up.
To top it all off, when I tried recording my weekly video update, my camera overheated in the sun and shut down.
Update: The new shelf arrived, but so has a bad rain storm. Right now I can hardly move.
